Everybody is using voice programmes today．If you make a telephone call about a product or a service or if you make plane or car booking, you may find you are talking to computer．Soon we’ll be able to send messages with our voices, and give instructions to our computers．A big computer will keep 50 numbers, so when you want to call your travel agent Maria, you simply pick up the phone and say “Maria”, and Maria answers the phone．In some large companies the computer can let you talk to any person you want．Many banks and stores are interested in developing these programmes．
There are even some new programmes which can remember 50,000 words．They are useful for people who need to put large amounts of text into computers．This is a good thing for people like doctors and writers because it is very quick．They can just talk straight into the computer．
We all speak in a different way, so how does the machine know what we are saying?You need to teach it to remember the way speak by reading lists of words slowly into the machine．People who like talking into the computer say that it is much better and cheaper than using a keyboard．This means that they have more time to do more important and more interesting things．

●Turn off the lights, computers, TV and other electrical things when you aren't using them．
●Change the water level on your washing machine to match the load(裝載)size．
●Lower the temperature setting on your water heater to save energy．
●Take a short shower instead of a long one．
●Don't open the microwave door too often to check on your food．Every time you open it, you waste some heat energy．
●Don't open the door of your refrigerator(冰箱)very often．A refrigerator needs a lot of electricity to get cold again after you open it．
