As more students begin to use computers for longer periods of time, more of them are suffering from eyestrain （視疲勞）．Just a few hours in front of a computer screen can make a person’s eyes feel tired and painful．A number of eye doctors have studied this growing problem and have found ways to deal with it．Following their advice will help keep computer users more comfortable．Here is some of the advice．
The light in a room shouldn’t be brighter than the computer screen itself．In many classrooms, however, the lights are far brighter than they should be．．Students can block some of this light by wearing baseball caps if they’re allowed at school．
A special computer screen should be used to cut down on bright light because it is especially tiring to the eyes．Another problem to avoid is the wrong kind of contrast．It is best to have dark letters on a light background．This causes less eyestrain than light letters on a dark background．
Students should be seated so that they are looking down at the computer screen rather than straight ahead, which is a far more tiring angle．The top of the monitor should be slightly lower than the top of the head．
The length of time students spend in front of a computer screen leads greatly to eyestrain．Students should take frequent breaks by looking away from the screen every fifteen or twenty minutes．During that time they should either close there eyes or focus on an object at a distance. Long – term computer use can dry out the eyes, so students should remember to blink frequently while in front of the screen.

Some people believe that greed and selfishness has become the basis of modern society, and we should return to the old traditions of family and community then we will have a better life. To what extend do you agree or disagree with the above opinion?
In this fast-paced world, many values are undergoing major changes. While people traditionally prioritize caring, sharing and generosity in life and work, modern people seem to be
more self-absorbed or self-concerned.
Modern people act selfishly to survive the harsh competition of life. They say that it is a jungle out there. To survive, you have to fight with whatever means that come handy. Obviously greedy and selfishness go perfectly well with such ideas. In a company, employees do everything they can to get better pay and higher position, even at the cost of colleagues. We are in any way advocating any selfish conduct. It is just that people are pressured to act in a certain way due to outside influences
. In spite of common practice, it is hard to conclude that modern society is built on greed and selfishness, both of which are not newly invented vocabulary. In ancient times people also did greedy and selfish things though such behaviors were more condemned then. But we can not ignore the fact that people in the past lived a relatively more isolated life and faced less pressure compared with their modern counterparts.
Are we happier to share with others and be generous to them? There is no fixed answer, either. Some people take great pleasure helping and giving to others while others feel happy doing the opposite. But I personally think that people should not be too selfish. Caring for others can actually encourage the development of a mutually beneficial relationship.
In conclusion, modern people appear to be more self-centered than those in the past due to strong outside pressure. However, we should encourage people to know the importance of being caring and generous and to build a mutually beneficially relationship with others.

The USA is the first country where Mother’s Day appeared.

Mother’s Day is a time for young children to do special things for their mother. Some would make a special gift or draw a special picture. One family activity on Mother’s Day is to have the children cook the early morning meal .Then they serve the food to their mother while she is still in bed. Or they might clean the house so she does not have to do it. Fathers might take care of the children that day so the mothers can rest, or take a walk, or read a book. Many mothers feel that this free time on their special day is a very good Mother’s Day gift.
Some families will get together for a meal at a local eating place. This means that mothers do not have to cook on their special day. Coming out to dinner has become a tradition on Mother’s Day. As a result, restaurants are extremely crowded that day. It has become one of the busiest days of the year for the restaurant industry in the United States.
Now Mother’s Day has been an international festival and more than 40 countries have accepted this festival.

Food allergic persons should have a little patience. In certain people, the allergy disappears gradually. Visit your doctor at regular times to find about the progress of your allergies instead of having strict diets every day.
Keep a diary to note the foods that worsen your food allergies, new experiences and changes that you notice. Being tempted to have a piece of cake can be very dangerous. Your health is much more worth than it. Always think about the efforts people around you are putting to create an allergic-free environment for you.
