Students of today are reading more than ever before. Indeed, the importance of reading can
never be too much stressed.
First of all, reading, especially out-of-class reading, enriches our mind and broadens our horizon. People say that books are the crystal of human wisdom. Through reading, we learn what cannot be learnt in our classrooms. Besides, reading is also a way of relaxation. It is so refreshing to read a story before going to bed, or after a day of study.
There’re many famous sayings about reading, like “Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” Then, how can we develop the habit of reading? In the first place, I believe we need to begin from an early age, then stick to it and never give up. Secondly, we should read as many as books, written by different people.

Reading can make a difference in our life for it can broaden our horizon and help us to have a good relaxation. Therefore, a good habit of reading should be developed.
It can be denied that books are very important in our daily life because they have recorded the history and the wisdom of human beings. Books are also works of art and science, and vehicles for ideas. Books improve our understanding of the world. Good books can bring us a large fortune. They also provide development opportunities for all ages and, in particular, for us young people. We should know that a person who doesn’t read has no future, nor does a nation.
I have loved reading since I began to study in primary school. But, being a high school student, I have been burdened with heavy school works and haven’t had much time to read books. I should try to do some reading every day though I’m busy preparing for the university entrance examinations. And I will not only read ancient Chinese masterpieces but also foreign literature books.
