My name is John．My ambition is to be a reporter on a national newspaper，but that isn’t the only reason I interviewed Bernard．Now，Bernard writes important articles for a national newspaper，but ten years ago，he was a student at our school．Bernard liked the school，and he enjoyed his time here．I showed him the latest edition of the school newspaper，and he sent his congratulations to the editor and all the reporters．
Bernard started writing articles for the school newspaper when he was fifteen．By the time he was seventeen，he was the editor of the school newspaper．When he went to university，he wrote articles for the university newspaper．I asked Bernard when he knew he wanted to be a reporter．“Oh．I knew that when l was fourteen，”he said，“that’s the reason I wrote articles for the school newspaper—if you want to be a reporter，you have to write articles．”
Writing articles for the school and university newspapers was good experience for his first job with a small newspaper in his hometown．“I felt confident．I knew I was a good reporter，”he said．Then after about two years，a national paper asked Bernard to work for them．Bernard has worked for the national newspaper for four years now．He works very hard，but he enjoys his jab and he’s very interested in it．“If you’re interested in something，you’re usually good at it．”he told me．I’ll remember that，because I think that’s good advice．
